Leo Moon ~ 6–8 June 2019
The Moon travels into lively Leo and the 11th House of friends, hopes, and desires at 12:16 PM PDT on 6 June 2019 until it travels into Virgo at 2:45 PM PDT on the 8th. The next couple of days appear to be perfect to spend time with friends and family. So, if stressed, plan a gathering or attend a party! Leo’s energy is playful so have the time of your life! The chart is below:
- Mode/Quality — Unstable Mutable energies dominate over the next lunar period. Flexibility is in order.
- Element — Elements are in relative balance.
- Ray — Most Rays are in balance with the exception of the 2nd Ray of Love/Wisdom emphasizing universal love, cooperation, and intuition.
- Sign — Gemini’s chatty and Airy influence provides the strongest influence. Avoid superficiality.
- House — 4th (Home, family), 10th (public life), and 11th (friends, relationships, hopes, dreams) provide the strongest influences.
- Quadrant/Hemisphere — 4th Quadrant (avoid becoming caught up in too heavy a focus); Southern Hemisphere (public life and achievements are important).
- I Ching/Human Design — 6/6 — Gate 29 The Abysmal Line 5 Overreach involves setting boundaries and learning to say no; 6/7 — Gate 64 Before Completion Line 2 Qualification involves scattered or impaired focus.
- Retrograde Planets — Ceres (issues of self-nurturing), Jupiter (inward focus), Pallas, Pluto (dealing with karmic debt), and Saturn (revisit old issues, inward discipline)
- Lunar Phase — New Moon, waxing
A sextile between the Moon and Venus (Orb 2°45′ Separating) suggests a social outlook while a square with Uranus (Orb 4°56′ Applying) presents an individual who wants to stand out, but tends toward erratic behavior, so a balance will need to be struck here. Emotionally, another square with Vesta (Orb 1°04 Separating) indicates that we may have trouble reconciling our responsibilities with our emotional needs. A focus on meditation may help us better define our boundaries.
A Yod exists between Mercury, Uranus, and Ceres with Ceres as the focal point suggesting someone with an inventive and focused mind. The sextile is between Mercury and Uranus (Orb 1°21′ Applying) with the inconjunct or quincunx between Ceres and both Mercury and Uranus (Orb 0°25′ Applying — Uranus; Orb 1°47′ Applying — Mercury). This means that Mercury and Uranus get along but provide the impetus or foundation for Ceres to shine as the focal point. In this Yod, Ceres in Sagittarius and the 4th House suggests a focus on an unconventional method of parenting.
Considering the aforementioned Yod aspect pattern, boundaries might need some working out over the next few days suggested by Gate 29 Line 5 Overreach regarding difficulty with saying, no which may be further impacted by the scattered focus felt in Gate 64 Line 2 Qualification. Stay centered and acknowledge the bigger picture.
While Jupiter continues its retrograde period, on Thursday inner work is favored. This is a time to examine both perceptions and emotions, letting go of that which no longer serves. For inner clarity, citrine is helpful to include in a magickal working as is quartz or celestite. Sapphire may also be helpful. All four stones purify and align as well as cleanse the auric field. The witch may also find selenite or moonstone to be useful. If focusing upon inner power and clarity, dragon stone may have an effective impact.
Friday’s meditative work can take a healing focus and include rose quartz and lapis lazuli for a healing effect. Candles may be anointed with rose essential oil or a substitute such as rose geranium or any other floral essential oil. Sandalwood along with copal can be burned on a piece of ritual charcoal as well. For trancework, however, I recommend burning dried mugwort.
If working magicks involving protection or establishing boundaries, a bindrune can be created to carry on your person for energetic assistance during interactions with others. I typically set my intention and then begin pulling runes, three to five, allowing the runes to decide the bindrune. However, if a witch isn’t comfortable using my method for bindrune creation, she or he might consider using Tiwaz (spiritual warrior within), Hagalaz (Norn rune of the past, destruction within an established boundary or framework), Nauthiz (Norn rune of the future, manifestation of will, inner friction), Thurisaz (defense, new beginnings, weather magick), and Algiz (guardian rune of higher consciousness). Any or all of these runes will make a powerful bindrune for protection and establishing boundaries.
I’m intrigued by the Yod with Ceres as a focus. The Mother aspect is in focus here signaling an unconventional or individualized approach to parenting. Or, if not that, at least our interactions with children, coupled Leo’s positive and fun influence, should create an enjoyable experience with the children in our lives.
Although I have two Yods in my own natal chart, none are with Ceres. But that didn’t prevent my own unconventional parenting style from impacting my own children. Our boys homeschooled after we removed them from public school; the oldest completing seventh grade and the youngest, fourth grade. They had the flexibility, freedom, and support to explore their interests and they both did well, eventually attending and graduating from rival universities in our state.
I wonder had my husband and I been anyone else, I’m not sure we would have been so amenable to such an alternative lifestyle, but we were both excited to watch them grow and learn while they finished their education at home. So, if there’s a chance over the next few days to spend some time with your children or the children in your life, do it. Become a child right along with them and let go of your worries and play!
Until next time…
