Today’s significator runes were Hagalaz and Populus. Hagalaz, one of the three Norn runes from the Elder Futhark, represents the past. It transforms perception or a situation without taking it apart completely. One example of that might be transforming perception without impacting one’s values or principles. Hagalaz is known as the witch rune, and in witchcraft, a situation or individual is influenced or transformed without remaking everything about it. In the as above position, Hagalaz likely indicates transforming behavior or perception to reflect higher awareness.

Populus, the geomancy rune for the so below or ego side of the equation reflects a passive influence that indicates someone who is a follower. So, along with Hagalaz, the significators for the reading may be suggesting that being passive isn’t getting you anywhere and now it’s time to transform that side of self into one that can be more assertive.

The 2 of Swords, King of Swords, and the 9 of Pentacles comprise the cards for today’s reading. Right away we see a run on Swords, the suit in Tarot that reflects the Air element. Swords is about the intellect, observation, reason, balance, justice, truth versus deception, and being able to analyze things without emotion or will defining that process.
